I'll never have the kid that shows up with an animal to show that he hasn't put all summer's time into..thats a promise. That being said, WOW am I proud of this kid! He had to do a lot more of the grunt work this year because mama was hot and tired. Even when he broke his arm he didn't give up, he worked hard and figured out how to do most of it with one arm.
This being said; the calf got a LOT of baths, because mama was hot and Coop is well... a boy!
We even had some visitors come down and help a few times with the calf, which was dearly appreciated by all.
Did I mention Coop added PIGS to his farm/fair projects?
Yep, we told him if he worked hard last year with his calf project he could show pigs this year.
We have some pretty great friends that came over a few times to help work with these stinky animals, they also talked to Cooper about the project and helped him worm them, ect.

He enjoyed hugging on his calf more this year than last, which was nice to see him bond even more with his project.
One of Coop's friends asked if we would help haul their pigs to the fair, of COURSE! Thats what its all about, helping others!
They didn't hate it either!
Let me tell you what was hated..BATH TIME. Coop's pigs squealed SO stinking loud every time we took them to the wash bay!
The seasoned show (grandma)mom over there came down for the week to help and it was MUCH appreciated! The new show dad was still trying to get used to the pigs.
Cooper's cousins came down to watch him show...their mama used to show with his mama back in the day, except she LOVED her pigs, me..not so much!
When it came time for the 8 o'clock show on Thursday morning let me tell you about this kids pig. He was SO well behaved and so enjoyable and good to Cooper. He walked the ring, did what Cooper asked of him, and made it a fantastic experience for his first year. Cooper was great with his eye contact and smiling at the judge. We couldn't have been more proud of old 'socks' the pig.
By the time the fair started Coop & Slack were ready to go !
The calf got some pretty great baths up at the fair still and we didn't mind either, as it was STINKING HOT all week!
When your birthday is the same time as the fair you just add it to the list of events...
Even Great Grandma came down to watch Cooper show his calf, it was special to have her see him show for sure!
His buddy helped him celebrate by hanging a banner above his hogs!

I sure hope Cooper comes out of his shell someday ;)
He did amazing with his calf and his pig---we couldn't be more proud!
He and Drake were pretty darn cute with their calves.
We are blessed and the county fair was just another notch to prove it!
