This kid is sure making his mamas heart grow stronger with every shenanigan he pulls.
Remember the PONY we got that I said hey at least if he falls its only 3'- yea well I guess 3' landing the perfect (or imperfect) way can actually break an arm. He FINALLY got george to lope and he got loping too fast and lets just say his lope is far from smooth...and slowly he rolled to the side.
Its a small break and only needs 4 weeks in a cast, but when you have a pool and are a farm kid prepping for the fair you pay the extra $25 for a waterproof cast (like last time)
Just taking ol George for a ride while Grandad was here--->
For the record, this mama slowly walked across the arena cool and collected and tried to console his crying. He wanted to go inside and take a bath and lay down, so we did just that.
The next morning he was feeling better but still not using his dang arm.
So since he wasn't using it, we went to the Dr like all good parents do 15 hours after their kid falls off a horse :)
NOTICE his left arm swollen and bowed
They put a splint on it a few days for the swelling to go down a few days and once that IBPROFIN hit we had our boy back to normal...or as close to normal as he gets :)
(The following MONDAY he got his cast)
The dr reassured us its not got anything to do with bad bones or anything, that a kid will actually break a bone before they sprain anything or tear anything...he just fell the wrong way. Which was nice because I was starting to feel bad because he wasn't a good milk drinker after he got rid of the bottle. He's just recently started drinking milk well since we got our cow two years ago.
Same table, same lady doing the casts..a few years later
We grabbed donuts after his appointment (thinking hurts was appropriate) and then had my 30 week appointment..all's well!
