Spot

Meet spot! Cooper's newest herd member.

Spot came to us at four hours old yesterday. Mama prolapsed and died. Sad story but the silver lining is ...SPOT!  He said name her spot because she kind of has a white udder.

She's so fresh and sweet. I tubed her with colostrum last night and she drank a bottle today (of Molly milk of course)

Cooper just loves her. Probably because she's so young and fresh and kind still. No kicking. No head butts. Just a sweet calf.

He talked and talked to her. We sat with her and played with her and fed her half a bottle this evening. She keeps following him around like he's her mama.

And then he got his rope. He practiced roping her, in which she was a good sport.

And then he wanted to practice steer wrestling. He did pretty good. But he felt bad tackling her so young so he said maybe he will work on that later when she gets bigger.   :)

She's a big calf for being born to a heifer. Who knows, maybe she will grow up to look good and we will get her bred to join Dolly and Spunky! (I just hope she lives)

Life on the farm is always fun for little boys (and their mamas that love baby calves)
